2023 April Happenings

This April, the Kiwanis Club was really busy! We had meetings, a softball tournament, a celebration honoring the memory of Nick Hostler, and a Derby Night hosted by the Branson Kiwanis Club.

Dr. Jennifer Baker spoke at one of our meetings, and is the founder and director of the Good Dad’s Organization. They help men who’ve been incarcerated and or have substance abuse issues to be better fathers.

The Bomb Squad had their networking event at Whiskey Tango and it was a blast! Even though the Reverse Osmosis System raffle was a bit too intense for some, we were able to procure some sweet funds for our club. Good thing we had the Bomb Squad to thank for their support!

We had a baseball tournament – and boy, what a success! Big thanks to Stacey, Jessica, Derek, and Brady for all the hard work, and to all the volunteers who showed up – even though they weren’t aware of the crazy amount of raking and lining the fields needed!

A month ago, the Silver Strands Celebration honoring Nick was a huge success – so much so, it was possibly the most beautiful night of the year! A huge thank you goes out to the Friends of Abilities First Board and the Abilities First staff for putting the whole event together. All those who attended got to witness the passion for inclusion that Nick has, which drives the foundation, and his family were very proud of him. And so were we!
